I was trying to think of a new character earlier this week and thought it would be nice to try a samari ninja kind of fighter using Katanas shuricans and duel bladed swords. However appart from the fact there are no decent Katanas icon_rolleyes.gif i know i wont be able to stick to not using a shield. I was wondering if perhaps a kit could be made similar to the old Kensi class could be made. With attack bonuses for using medium armour and and no shield? Please keep in mind this is just a suggestion and i would appreciate any input others have to give in this. icon_biggrinno.gif

Disclaimer... I know i cant spells so dont complain! and i also have very little idea about how easy this would be to impliment. Thanks for your time icon_biggrin.gif

1. Eastern influences spoil DnD, unless its an eastern campaign, which dyso is not.
2. Neither ninja (shinobi) or samurai would ever duel weild, its all about 1 hit kills and accuracy with your shorter Katana as a ninja, and your samuari would be using a yuri (spear) and then a katana as a last resort.

spears are mans basic weapons from back in the stone age, why not learn how to use it like a pro and become a spear wielder god??!  Reply with quote

All I can say, when I saw the eastern influence in BG II with the Kensai, I was kind of shocked... but then I learned that the forgotten realms, probably also got an eastern side... [doh] and perhaps its the same as the one we used to have. [With Ninja's etc]
So I dont think Easter influence spoil DnD.... at least I dont anymore...
Besides, the people who created NWN took out a few off the best things from Baldurs gate, thats the bonus with one hand fighting feat... they took out class kits, [Horrible mistake!!] and last but not least... there's STILL no wild mage...

Oh... another NWN bug, your highest attack bonus will always be rolled as a 37...
So you should use power attack if your 5 points above that... and I know its impossible to reach on Dyso... but I've seen it happen on LV servers.... and its annoying.
While we are talking about Ninja's I think that Ninja's should be a subclass of the monk, and not fight unarmed but rather get weapon specialization in some exotic weapon, and be able to poison it once or twice a day... In baldurs gate II that was awesome... I'm rambling off topic again sorry! icon_redface.gif

Meh, its easy to get opver 37 ab, 38 is max if your an elf with finesse or ranged or orc with melee. You can get even more if your a halfing set up as the elf and even more on that if you use throwing weapons. So... 39 or 40 is the absolutely max.

rofl, poor lamer nilas.... ahahaha i had a paladin with a 45 attack bonus, but a paladin can only get about 37 or so, if more than 15 levels of paladin, 37 is the max for a human (PERIOD) 38 is the max for a subrace, and 39 is the maximum pimped ass bonus available only to halflings.... with wep finesse.... heh, i have played too much pvp to know otherwise... -_-
