I was unhappy with my other level 20 monk, and Malak Kalam had proceded too far in his training to change him, so I've remade the character - Malakalam IS Malak Kalam.

He will end up as a 4/16 monk/cleric most likely.

Please treat Malakalam as the same person as Malak Kalam

Eh, I wanted my old cleric from pen and paper - he was a spiked gauntlet cleric...
Looks like I can't do that here, I lose monk damage bonus when I put on armor.
I'll see if I can get Malakalam deleted and then I'll remake him.

What one-handed weapon do you guys suggest I use?

I don't see why not, a 19cleric/1monk would have an incredible armor class, and it wouldn't take away much from the spell casting. kind of along the same lines as a 19sorc/1pally with saving throws. IMHO though power isn't always the way to go. Anybody can be powerful, do something unique. Make a story and then the character to fit it or something. Just have fun with it. Nei is the weakest character I've build and the most fun.

monks can't use shields or armor, so a 19/1 monk doesnt have really huge AC unless you skimp on cha, int, and str, to add to dex (modifiers added together must be greater than 8 to do better than a +1 dex with full plate)

what I wanted was my character to be attacking with his heavily gauntleted fists, ala Bane.. but they become 1d3 weapons when I put on my armor :/

But monks add in the wisdom modifier to AC as well and since Cleric is your main class Wisdom should be your highest ability. Plus they have access to those boots with the dodge modifier which help especially at low levels. Are you sure Monks are not allowed to wear armor? You'll get armor feats for free with the cleric levels. And armor doesn't limit Wis modifiers. I could be totally wrong though, I thought it'd make for a hell of a defensive cleric though. But likeI said before I'm probably off base, plus Ithought you were headed more towards Cleric so you could wear armor and a shield. Well, good luck.

I already tried the monk in armor, which is why I needed it deleted - you lose all your bonuses to ac, damage bonus to attack, and extra unarmed attacks when you put on anything with an AC above zero, and shields count as well.

The boots are nice, but not worth losing my full plate or whatever evil looking armor I decide to stay with. (currently wearing banded +2 for its looks)
