Here is TSR's basic overview of Alignments:
Subject: Alignment - a guide from TSR
From: lrmead@whale.st.usm.edu (Lawrence R. Mead)
Date: 14 Mar 1997 14:56:24 GMT
In a number of threads here, the idea of alignment has in my view been
misinterpreted, in particular, Lawful, and Evil. Thus, I have decided to
"reprint" part of an original article from the Dragon magazine
( Dragon, 1979, p23) in which guidelines are given - in game terms - for
the role play of each of the nine ADnD alignments. As the author (Carl
Parlagreco) states, the guidelines are not always absolutes, but are
a set of *guides* to the meaning of words like Lawful, and so on.
I pass these guidelines out to all players in my campaign(s) and expect
them to be followed as closely as possible: that is, I judge their
alignments (in part) by how they behave in the situations covered in the
guide. Hope it is useful to you as well.
LAWFUL GOOD Will keep their word if they give it
Would not attack an unarmed foe
Will not use poison
Will help those in need
Prefers to work with others
Responds well to higher authority
Trustful of organizations
LAWFUL NEUTRAL Will keep their word if they give it
May attack an unarmed foe
May use poison
May help those in need
Prefers to work with others
Responds well to authority
Trustful of organizations
LAWFUL EVIL Will keep their word if they give it
Would attack an unarmed foe
Will use poison
Will not help those in need
Prefers to work with others
Responds well to higher authority
Trustful of organizations
NEUTRAL GOOD Will keep thier word to others of good alignment

Indifferent to organizations

no actually i was joking
What i do suggest however is that Sangius instead of going around saying "Die by Cyric" or something to that effect and killing people. He needs to be smart, Cyricists are confined chaotic evil. By murder it means a stealthy killing with little or no witnesses, and it is not done out in the open or proclaimed to the name of Cyric.
Cyricists pit enemy against enemy, foe against foe. THAT is how they achieve power, THAT is how they achieve chaos, and THAT is how they play CE.
if he wants to run around killing people like he is now, all he has to do is switch Cyric with Talos. ITS THAT SIMPLE
why is he so attatched with cyric when he is unable to follow its dogma
Sangius told me he was insane, something you and his other friend seemed to have left out. His insanity could possibly allow him to mispercieve the dogma, but either way he would still be struck down by Cyric's might _________________

Ugh, now that was uncalled for..I think.
I do believe that most of my posts made sense, and I don't really post for nothing. At least, not until now. Anyway, perhaps being a close personal friend to a forum mod might've helped?
And Glorin, why hasn't Cyric killed that little Sangius guy yet? I really think that we should get one of the mods to kill the guy, because he is ignoring his god. Gods tend to get pissed about that. _________________

Malakalam, you question the still existance of Glorin.
You know why he is still alive? He was never killed. Nor will he be, since you preach all alone from your basic standing that Cyric should not gain any power through any acts what-so-ever, but instead sit around like Oghma and watch over everything.
Bah, that's a pathetic ideal. We change Cyric so we can have fun, you do want to have fun, don't you Malakalam? |

You have asked why he is still alive, is that not questioing his still existance? Meaning, questioning why he is still around? Living, as the case is permitting? |
