Let me start by saying that I am unfamiliar with the third edition D&D rules as I havent played pen and paper for over 10 years. However, I find it unbelievable that monsters and NPC's will attack anyone regardless of their level or challenge rating. Especially things like bandits which you expect to have enough intelligence to recognize a 10th lvl fighter and not just throw themselves on his sword. Would it be possible to implement a system whereby npc's only attack things that they have a reasonable chance of defeating. Some one else said earlier that every time they walk out thier door they don't get attacked by squirrels, and I think this is a similar issue. I know that a lot of people think a band of adventureers who are RPing correctly wouldn''t just pass up killing a group of nearby monsters but if thats the case then Evil characters shouldn't really pass on killing lowbie players, basically it's just not worth their time and neither are bandits or rats or bugbears after a certain point. Anyhow, that's just an idea I had and I'm too tired to try to be eloquent about it at the moment so please forgive my poor presentation. What does everyone else think?

The most annoying poster in the forums, RedStorm, has spoken. Thank you RedStorm, both for your oversized sign, and your irritating signature.

Anyway, it is as Uin says already a bit related to the "no exp for lower beings" script. Otherwise it would be quite nice. Gives a bit more life to the mod. Not just a bunch of fights all the time.

yeah i agree, i used to run around wiping out teh bandit population in normal clothes effortlesly but still those people would attack me on sight, you'd think they'd learn after the first thousand bandits. icon_twisted.gif

It would be exploited mercilessly. Only way it could work would be if the AI could be tweaked for them not to run but just to not target the characters they know they have no chance against. That may be asking too much of the engine's AI.

Errr..how could the running away of characters who are way below your level be exploited? It's just realistic in every single way..so I can't see exploits here.
