ownage paladin combo

17 str 13 int 13 wis 12 cha as much con as you can put in after that, or you can just use whatever works... just make sure to get the maximum possible str bonus for a human which is spending all skill points in str when you hit 20!

like this 17+5=22 +10=32=maximum human bonus (+11)

......

sorta.. i never could get paladins right though, on my character sheet it said i had a +45 attack bonus, but when i checked the rolls on the status screen it only said 34 or 37 at maximum... (on the first attack) .. oh well, still, make sure to have decent strength, charisma, wisdom, and constitution for a paladin...

you can always play the stupid paladin with -8 int but 12 or so wis that likes to do this:

"WANT BASH EVIL!"...

hahahahaha

Basic pally build there.
And contrary to what Spamocore syas, paladins of certain deities can multiclass with certain classes.

Thank you very much Uin, but I never even heard you say that when I said that you were abusin the DnD rules(yes, we can argue about NWN not being DnD, but I won't, since Bioware destroyed several classes)

well, a paladin is basicly playing 2 goody shoes with a blade, they often get into trouble when they try to slay every evil creature around, and there is often a moral dilemma when it comes to always following the law.

Well...you do ofcourse need the spells, but the charisma is very important...

i wouldn't exceed 16 str base to start with to get more cha and wis...

and remember to have a dilemma in your background

Like forinstance a greedy paladin...that's very fun icon_biggrin.gif

*reads*
Paladin Template:
Roll 6 stats normally, highest into STR, 12 Dex, 12+ Cha, 12+ wis, Constitution is about as high priority as Wis or Dex

RP:
Must defend the spirit of law
defends helpless/innocent
pick one moral dilemma

Moral Dilemmas: pick one
Greed
ALWAYS kills to end a fight
Bad Guy is related to Paladin
If loved one is killed: see Blackguard

Lmao...

Anyway...sounds like a fun paladin ,but i reallly don't see the con need.I mean.My current char is almost always close to people (monsters)
in melee combat. And i have less hp dice then a paladin...the thing is...you don't get hurt unless you get hurt so that you die

Mean huh?

well, I think con should weigh a bit heavier on paladins than on your standard fighter, seeing you probably want your paladin in full plate, and then dex isnīt the best thing to use for when you get hit.

But yes, moral dillemaīs are fun with a paladin. Maybe try playing a paladin who is afraid of everything, or maybe one who has the tendacy to overreact. Whatever, its always fun to play something wacked.

I've had much success (dueling) with paladins- I'd have to agree with Jon's build, however I think he puts too much into INT. His reason for putting them into INT is basically for disarm, but personally I don't like using it, so I pump the rest into STR or WIS...

If you want an RP/Duel pally, keep Jon's build because you don't want to be a braindead pally either.

I try to keep my build 12 pally 8 fighter, but the deathspell immune is by far one of the more useful spells in the long run, so for a well rounded pally go 16//4.

You should always have a dex of 12 and no more. It gives a +1 AC bonus, but willn't pass that if you're wearing heavy armour.

Charisma isn't drastically important, but you're definatley right on the second part. High charisma makes for good RP though, so its worth looking into.

A pally without cha is basically a cruddy fighter. Cha is the pallies defining ability. The paladin is the diplomat of the party, and often the leader. 14cha at creation is a must.

14str(+4)
10dex
14con
14wis
12int(+1)
14cha

The 18str is so you make the most out of a greatsword (4*1.5=6) rather than (3*1.5=4).
14wis is all spell lvls, 16p/4f will have 3lvl1&2 spells, 2lvl3 spells, 1lvl4 spells. Paladin spells are better than ranger ones, bulls, eagles, element endure/resist, dispel, death ward. Thats all your immunities taken care of.
Int for skill points (ie. taunt before knockdown) and after about lvl 12 imp knockdown.
Cha is so you can actually be the very persuasive type. Not slightly more than average (12), lots more than average (14). Also 2 more undead turns, +2 uniST and extra taunt/persuade.
