My halfling friend, it's been too long
Since I engaged in rhyme or song
Thy company - which is a wrong.

So Ali'zee, at your request
I said before I'd do my best
And so I've been put to the test
To pen a poem rich in jest
And draw a laugh from all here, lest
From stirring up the Glather nest
Your heart grows cold within your chest

The Ode to GOLD

If you dig deep, through mountains old
Amidst the glowing light of mold
Then mayhap you can someday hold
That shining treasure known as GOLD

Yes much indeed is bought and sold
From meals served hot to ales served cold
Many a pleasure it has been told
Was purchased with a bit of GOLD

Adventurers that are so bold
When their wealth’s source is being polled
May claim they found on dead Kobold
That glittering prize we worship: GOLD

So when you have your money rolled
And tucked away in secret fold
Make sure that you are not cajoled
Out of the sweetest substance…. GOLD!!!!!!!!!

*Bak wipes the ale from the back of his hand to rub a tear from his eye. He looks around to make sure no one noticed and shouts,*

"Shey, AliZee'... dat guy shez dem words for yous... *clears throat* 'n me liksh summa dem too!"

*Baks voice quivered slightly when he shouted, perhaps due to the excitement of hearing those words, or maybe he just prematurely inhaled his draw. Bak glances at the author and orator of the poem and says*

"whatsh yous call dem shtoreys wish dem singin' words? ...uh..uh.. *clears chest* ...poms!?

Me likes dish one... itsh likensh AliZee'.

Gold... is a mortal thing...

So many wrote about it... I 'think I'll share some of those writing, as you seems to apreciate them...

Gold ! Gold ! Gold ! Gold !
Bright and yellow, hard and cold
Molten, graven, hammered and rolled
Heavy to get an light to hold,
Hoarded, bartered, bought and sold,
Stolen, borowed, Sqandered, doled,
Spurned by the yound, but hugged by the old,
To the verge of the church yard mold;
Price of many a crime untold.
Gold! Gold! Gold! Gold!
Good or bad a thousand fold!

Quote:
Oh Gold, beautiful Gold
your soft luster is divine
your ductility tremendous
your conductivity amazing
your density unnerving.

But alas! You are so solitary.
Chemically neutral, you will not bond with another.
Never to tarnish, always to shine,
but never to know the joy of companionship.
Are you lonely?

Perhaps (aha!) you have confusion!
Being half full, it is not clearly defined
whether you should give or should receive.
Maybe your reticence is an attempt to conceal
your desire to swing both ways!

Oh Gold! Could this be true?
Does powerful Sodium attract you just as much as the hungry Chlorine?
Do you run from relationships because
you are unclear about your own identity?
Oh Gold, poor Gold!
Your confusion must be horrible!
Your desire is there, but you refuse to admit it.
This tension must set your nucleus quivering.
Will you ever decide?
Do you need to choose?
Or will you just remain aloof?

That first poem, Y, is grand (as is yours, Lord Randall, I bow to thee both). However, the quoted one is a bit...odd.
